This study examines Kuma Kengo's architectural spirit and studies the characteristics of Kenneth Frampton's critical regionalism to examine Kuma's architecture from a critical regionalism perspective. Kengo Kuma is a Japanese architect who pursues sustainable design that combines traditional architectural styles with modern technology. In his book ‘Kuma Kengo, All My Work’, Kengo Kuma selected buildings that well reflected his architectural philosophy among his works to date. We aim to examine his architectural spirit by comprehensively analyzing buildings, Kuma's books, lectures, and articles. Additionally, I would like to analyze his architecture from the perspective of critical regionalism. Through this research, we aim to suggest approaches and research directions for a sustainable future in domestic architecture, where concrete and object-like designs are mass-produced.
