Nature, destroyed by blind faith in civilization, is threatening humanity in the name of abnormal climate. Humanity is now facing a time when we must preserve nature and open an era of coexistence with living creatures. This mission of the times is necessary not only for individuals but for the entire human community. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of natural ecosystem conservation through cases of preserving wetland resources in accordance with the Ramsar Convention and utilizing them as educational and tourism resources. The Ramsar Convention is the first international convention on the conservation and wise use of natural resources and habitats. The official name of this convention is “The Convention on Wetlands of International Importance Especially as Waterfowl Habitat.” It is called the Ramsar Convention because it was signed in Ramsar, Iran, on February 2, 1971. It is also called the Wetlands Convention and the Ramsar Convention. Based on the Ramsar Convention, the natural ecosystem conservation characteristics of Mai Po Wetland include freshwater storage and aquaculture, carbon storage, disaster prevention, aquaculture, and various food production. Now that the Earth is facing a climate crisis due to excessive carbon emissions, protecting natural ecosystems such as Hong Kong's Mai Po Wetland has become a more important issue than ever before.
