This study aims to model and simulate the spatial layout of a tourism-oriented factory using AnyLogic, a software based on Agent-Based Modeling (ABM) techniques, to replicate real-world visitor behavior and analyze overall movement patterns and dwell structures. The case selected for analysis is Hwa Meei, an optical lens manufacturer in Taiwan, which operates a self-guided tour structure. A pedestrian simulation model was developed using AnyLogic’s Pedestrian Library to replicate visitors' free movement and exhibition viewing behaviors. Based on shadowing data from 45 actual visitors, 21 subareas corresponding to exhibition points were defined within the tourism factory layout. Agents were assigned uniform attributes such as walking speed and dwell duration and were randomly programmed to navigate among the 21 subareas. The simulation output including congestion levels, total travel distances, and overall dwell — times was examined against observational data to validate the accuracy and reliability of — the computational model.
