The plum-blossom crest, also known as the Leehwa crest, was the imperial emblem of the Korean Empire (1897–1910) and represented national sovereignty. This study recontextualizes the Leehwa crest through morphological "DNA" analysis and cross-cultural comparisons with Japanese kamon and European heraldry. The findings include the crest’s distinctive five-petaled geometry and traditional tricolor palette of gold, black, and white. These characteristics inform the crest’s generative design potential. Based on these insights, three future scenarios are proposed: a "Circular Civic" scenario that integrates the motif into sustainable public design, an "AR Living Crest" that reimagines the emblem in augmented reality, and a "Parametric Font" that embeds the crest's form into a variable typeface. Ultimately, Living Heritage is presented as a sustainable, participatory model for reviving traditional emblems.
