Recently, with the emergence of new media such as VR / AR and the development of computer graphics technology, there is a growing interest in 3D graphic contents that can provide high realism. In this regard, research on the generation of 3D data of real-world objects or figures using 3D scanning technology is continuously conducted. Recently, several attempts have been made to generate and transmit real-time front 3D data by interfacing not only simple generation but also multiple 3D scanning devices.
In this paper, we propose a direct approach to 3D scanning devices in Unity, a game engine that is commonly used for 3D scanning based real-time 3D data generation and transmission. Unlike the existing method of loading 3D data through a file, this is a method of directly accessing a method that can effectively reduce the time required for real-time 3D data transmission. For the experiment, we used Stereo Labs' Zed camera that can perform real-time 3D scan and propose a new method by comparing the processing speed, CPU and point cloud size with the existing method.
