Abstract The purpose of this study was to reinvestigate the value of craft in rapidly chaning the modern society and search the direction of craft education to cultivate talented people who will lead craft in the future. This study reclassifies the values and attributes of modern craft derives from previous studies from an educational point of view and examined the previous 10 years of researches on craft and searched for the direction of education by finding the connection between the core 4C(Creativity, Coummuncation ability, Collaboration ability, Critical thinking ability) and the key craft competencies. It also examines the theoretical background of future talented competencies and extracted craft keywords such as creativity, technology, practical use, design thinking, and problem solving by conducting a literature review on craft education related to the recent 10 years from 20018 to 2018. After examining the correlation betwwen the selected keywords and the 4C, the core skills of craft were found to be adaptability, expansion, problem solving, social empathy, mutual respect, flexibility, integraion, and knowledge exploration based on the goals and characteristics of each at curriculum. This study also found the direction for the future of craft education, focusing on the analysis of keywords in craft education, and to lay the foundation for the diversification of democratization in the craft sector, which coexists with various fields as well. Ketword Craft Education, Craft Competencies, Craft Democratization 본 연구는 현대 사회에서 공예의 가치를 재확인하고 미래 공예 분야를 이끌 인재 양성을 위한 공예 교육의 방향성을 모색하는 것을 목표로 하였다. 선행연구에서 도출한 현대 공예의 가치와 속성을 교육의 관점으로 재분류하고 최근 10년의 공예 선행 연구를 조사하여 미래 인재 핵심 역량 4C(창의성, 의사소통능력, 협업능력, 비판적사고력)와 공예 핵심 역량의 연관서을 찾아 교육의 방향성을 모색하였다. 연구를 통해 공예 교육의 현황을 살펴보고, 현대 공예의 교육적 가치를 보편성, 특수성, 전통성, 혁신성의 네 가지의 특성으로 재구성 하였다. 또한 미래 인재 핵심 역량에 대한 이론적 배경을 조사하고, 2008~2018년까지 최근 10년 동안 연구된 공예 교육 관련 문헌조사를 실시하여 창의성, 기술, 생활 활용, 디자인사고, 문제해결 등의 주요 공예 키워드를 추출하였다. 추출된 키워드와 4C의 연관성을 살펴 본 후 대상별 미술 교과 교육 과정의 목표 및 특징을 바탕으로 공예 핵심 역량을 적응력, 확장력, 문제해결력, 사회적 공감, 상호존중, 유연성, 통합력, 지식탐구력으로 도출하였다. 본 연구는 급변하는 현 시대에 공예 교육의 주요 키워드 분석을 중심으로 공예 교육이 나아갈 방향성을 모색하고 다양한 분야와 공존하고 있는 현대 공예 분야가 다각적인 대중화를 모색할 수 있도록 밑거름을 마련하고자 하였다.
